Wine Conference to Make a Direct IMPACT

The inaugural Wine Industry IMPACT Conference will gather wine producers, marketers, salespeople and their suppliers together at a one-day conference in Adelaide to focus on the burgeoning importance of the Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) sales channel in Australia.

Event host, national industry body Wine Industry Suppliers Australia (WISA), Executive Officer Matthew Moate says that “There is a significant gap and growing need in regard to research, knowledge and practical extension in this space for Australian wine producers.”

“The conference theme, ‘Making a Direct Impact’, reflects the importance of understanding and maximising the relationships Australian wineries hold directly with consumers and how that impacts brand perception, demand and ultimately profitability.”

The conference will particularly interest wineries looking to grow their DTC wine and tourism experience sales channels, as it aims to assist the long-term profitability for wine producers along with improving choice and experience for consumers.

With cellar door and other DTC channels representing on average 47% of wine sales for wineries, as per the recent Wine Australia Small Winemakers Report, we saw this as a critical area where WISA can make a direct impact to support wine producers” added Moate

The conference features a not-to-be-missed line up of experts including international keynote speaker Sandra Hess who will discuss world’s best practice strategies and techniques in maximising visitation, customer conversion, retention and engagement.

The San Francisco based DTC sales and engagement specialist said, “It’s important for producers to benchmark themselves against domestic and international data in order to improve overall performance by making informed business decisions and managing factors that significantly impact the demand, loyalty and preference of their brand by consumers.”

Supporting Hess’ position, the program will also deliver new and must-know benchmark-data from Wine Australia’s inaugural Cellar door & direct to consumer wine sales report.

This event will raise the bar in regard to driving the capability and competitiveness of Australia’s direct to consumer wine space now and into the future” concluded Moate

Program overview and early bird registrations are now available for the Wine Industry Impact Conference to be held at the Grand Chancellor Adelaide on Thursday 18th October 2018.
